So much could be told, with all the stories, all
the tabletop games and to top that all the sessions in the live games,
like Muddy, Secrets of Life and the NeverWinter Nights servers like
Devil's Den. Much of it IS used to further the character's
personality, in the live environment gather friends and allies as well as
kicking the crap (or trying!!) out of someone attacking him or others.
Sure, he is driven and controlled by me, but you gather a separate view
when doing all that stuff above. Even in the writing, where no one
else is there to provoke something, you still have to get into the head
of the characters you write about. I can say over the years that
the character has grown into something that, I feel, is worthy of
shooting for making something more real that a little chunk of a story,
or a entry of a "journal". The time draws nearer to where I WILL
start at page one and to make begin something special.

The Beginnings....
The PnP games Korbin would
have been in his 150s, on the run from the few factions he
angered with his rashness and impassioned acts. He
traveled with small adventuring bands, shifting away from
caravan and mercenary work at this point. Reluctantly
leading as his comrades realized that their safety was more
important to him than his personal gain. It was more often
than not that his 'crazy' stunts would win the day for him and
his friends over sending his party into total disaster.
That was the case for them until they attempted the hazards of
Myth Drannor.
Hired to seek a specific
item, his band holed up in a ruined House. It was there
when luck took a harsh turn with the presence of a ghost.
The hidden undead took hold of Korbin's body, and used it to
slay the intruders of its home. He slew over half his band
before they managed to beat him down to the point of the ghost
fleeing his body. The beasts that ruled over the ruins
forced them to flee finally, Korbin grimly leading those with
him out of the deadly city. His heart was low from his
forced deeds, taking the fault and blame upon himself regardless
of the truth of the matter.
It was then he stopped
leading adventuring bands, fearing leading friends into danger. |

It was little time before that band went
their separate ways. Korbin again taking to wandering the
Realms. Making peace within himself as best as he could,
and keeping more to himself than he had before. Crossing
through the High Forests and into the western lands he entered
into Waterdeep. The Rogue investigated the City of
Splendors, altering his coin to Waterhadivian coins with one of
the many money lenders. Feeling he was shortchanged Korbin
plied part of his trade upon the money lenders, unaware the over
large man was on of the secret Lord of Waterdeep.
Swiftly the watch descended upon him,
sending him into flight through the streets and alleys.
Finally getting cornered in an alley, Korbin dives into the
severs. Becomming throughly lost the Rogue passed into
Undermountian and then blundered out of the deadly maze into the
upper reaches of the Underdark.
Traversing the miles of deep tunnels and
caverns Korbin comes to Skullport. |
